Martin Kennedy is an economist (PhD University of Delaware, 2005). He was born in Philadelphia, the 12th of 13 children. After graduating from college, he worked for a maintanance contractor, then in sales (office equipment, freight), and did some other things that paid something.
His first novel, A Philadelphia Catholic in King James' Court , came out in 1999 and has sold over 35,000 copies. His second novel is due out in Fall, 2016.
While on the faculty of the economics department at Middle Tennessee State University he wrote weekly reports covering legislative affairs and regulatory developments in Tennessee for government relations' practices and trade associations . In 2009, he began the process of launching a public charter school. After the charter was approved, he directed planning. The school launched in August, 2012.
In the past couple of years he's worked in the applied world, consulting for a large trade association and a healthcare technology company. Currently, he teaches at Nashville State Community College and runs The Policy Market.
